In April 2011, the pseudonymous entity known as Satoshi Nakamoto passed the Bitcoin project on to his successor, Gavin Andreson, and disappeared. The bitcoin community erupted in speculation about the true identity of the mysterious Nakamoto. The New Yorker got involved running a story following a detailed investigation. The whole mystery culminated in a dedicated episode of The Good Wife on network TV.
Nakamoto’s writings, programming, political views, use of English and variety of spelling have been analysed in detail, resulting in the general consensus that Satoshi Nakamoto is of British origin, and is most likely a collaboration of people rather than a single entity.
No one has been able to learn who Satoshi Nakamoto is.
